BARC 2018 Tennis Camp

Session 1: ENTERING Grades 3-6
Mondays: June 25, & July 2, 9, 16, 23, & 30
TIME: 5:30-6:30PM

Session 2: ENTERING Grades 7-12
Mondays: June 25, & July 2, 9, 16, 23, & 30
TIME: 6:30-7:30PM

Where: Ballston Spa High School tennis courts. *Rain location- Wood Road/Milton Terrace School gyms.

Cost: $50.00

1.To be eligible children must be residents of the Town of Milton,Malta, or Ballston, or Village of Ballston Spa, and ENTERING Grades 3 through 12 in September of this year. An additional fee of $25.00 will be charged to those not residing in the Ballston Spa School District.

2. The first 4 sessions will consist of drills. The last 2 sessions will consist of match play. However, the program will be non-competitive and will emphasize the teaching of the fundamentals of tennis.

•PLAYERS MUST HAVE THEIR OWN TENNIS RACKET.

•BRINGING A WATER BOTTLE IS SUGGESTED AND USING BUG SPRAY.


Summer Enrichment 2018 - 10am Classes

Summer Enrichment is a low cost recreation program from 10a-12p, Monday through Friday starting 6/25/18 and ending 7/13/18. (No classes on 7/4/18)The 10am class is for one hour. The classes that are being offered are as follows (please see the program announcement on the BARC website for more details):

Tae Kwon Do: (10 am: K-2) This class works on an improving fitness, focus, self control and self esteem.
Soccer: (10 am: 3-6) In this class students will learn the fundamentals of soccer through fun exercises.
Bokwa: (10am: 3-6) Bokwa is an innovative exercise class inspired by South African dance. It's easy to follow and uses letters and numbers to help class members identify the particular dance moves.
Acting through Dance: (10 am: K-2) The class will incorporate children’s theater games with movement and dance. No theater or dance experience necessary.
Paint, Draw & Craft: (10am: K-2 ) This class will use a wide range of media to make projects including collage, clay, and wax-resist painting.
Exploremos Espanol: (10am:3-6) This Spanish class is designed for students that may have had some previous basic exposure to the Spanish language and/or are ready to learn some conversational skills and more. We will explore the Spanish language through songs, stories, daily calendar, cultural activities and more.
Robotics: (10 am: 3-6) In this program we will learn a slightly more advanced robotics using the Lego Mindstorm kits to design, build, and program.
Crafty Readers: (10am: K-2) Participants will read a story together and discuss the central themes. We will also "get crafty" with a related project for each story.
Kitchen Kids: (10am: K-2) This class will provide kids with hands-on experience in the kitchen by learning to plan, prep, and cook. *Children with food allergies can not participate in this class.

Create & illustrate: (10am: 3-6) Students will be presented with a variety of forms of poetry, use their imaginations to write their own poems, and illustrate those using different mediums. The class will involve creative movement, and students will take home a portfolio at the end of the sessions. These projects are at a level, where though very young, the students will achieve success.

2018 BARC Track and Field

Registration is closed

To be eligible, children must be residents of the Town of Milton, Ballston, or Malta, or the Village of Ballston Spa, and ENTERING GRADES 3 THROUGH 9 in September of 2017. Those who reside in one of the towns listed, but are not residents of the Ballston Spa School District will be charged an added fee of $25.00.

There will be five Wednesday sessions from 6:00p-7:30p to be held on: June 27, July 11 & 18 and August 1 & 8 - with a rain date of August 15th.

The first 4 sessions will consist of learning stations, which will expose students to the various track and field events, as well as introduce them to the lifetime benefits of running. The last session will consist of a "fun" track meet. The program will be non-competitive and will emphasize the teaching of the fundamentals of running and field events.

The event will be held at the Ballston Spa High School track.
