Fall Enrichment 2018 - 10am Classes

Fall Enrichment is a low cost recreation program from 10a-12p on Saturdays starting 11/3/18 and ending 12/15/18. The 10am class is for one hour. The classes that are being offered are as follows (please see the program announcement on the BARC website for more details):

Tae Kwon Do: (10 am: K-2) This class works on an improving fitness, focus, self control and self esteem.
Gymnastics: (10a: 3-5) This program will build on basic gymnastics fundamentals.
Break Dancing: (10 am: K-2) This program will build on basic hip hop fundamentals of dance and will help you improve your rhythm and flow.
Yoga: (10 am: K-2) Children will improve strength, flexibility, and coordination as they learn how to focus through breathing and relaxation techniques.
Paint, Draw & Craft: (10am: 3-5 ) This class will use a wide range of media to make projects including collage, clay, and wax-resist painting.
Legos: (10am: K-2) Students will learn about aspects of LEGO building.
Bokwa: (10am: 3-5) Bokwa is an innovative exercise class inspired by South African dance. It's easy to follow and uses letters and numbers to help class members identify the particular dance moves.
Crafty Readers: (10am: 3-5) Participants will read a story together and discuss the central themes. We will also "get crafty" with a related project for each story.

Creative Candle Making Fall 2018

Creative Candle Making is a part of the BARC Arts Program, which is a year-round arts program that explores various aspects of the arts in 4-week segments. This program will be exploring visual art, music, dance & theater. Sessions will be offered to a variety of age groups and locations depending on the modality being explored.

In this session, students will work at The Candle Collective, a local Ballston Spa business, to create and build their very own candles each week. There will be a different theme each week. The students will learn about the candle creating process. This is a very unique and special class that will truly inspire students' imagination. Classes will start on Wednesday, 11/7 and will be held at The Candle Collective, 20 Prospect Street, Building 2, Suite 214 Ballston Spa, NY 12020 will recur on the following dates: 11/14, 11/28, and 12/5 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

This session is for boys and girls who are currently in 3rd-7th grade, who reside in the Towns of Milton, Malta, or Ballston, or the Village of Ballston Spa and who are in the Ballston Spa Central School District. If you do not reside in the Ballston Spa School District, there is an added $25.00 fee.

Mural Painting Fall 2018

Mural Painting is a part of the BARC Arts Program, which is a year round arts program that explores various aspects of the arts in 5 week segments. In this session, students will be working together to create a mural that will be designed and implemented as a group. Classes will be on Tuesdays from 6 pm -7 pm and will be held at the BARC building on Eastern Ave. Classes will start on Tuesday, 11/6 and will recur on the following dates: 11/13, 11/27, 12/4 and 12/11.

This session is for boys and girls who are currently in 3rd-5th grade, who reside in the Towns of Milton, Malta, or Ballston, or the Village of Ballston Spa and who are in the Ballston Spa Central School District. If you do not reside in the Ballston Spa School District, there is an added $25.00 fee.


2018-19 Indoor Tennis

Boys and Girls who are currently in 3rd-8th grade and reside in the Towns of Milton, Malta, or Ballston, or the Village of Ballston Spa. However, if you do not reside in the Ballston Spa School District, there is an added $25.00 fee.

This program is for new, beginning, and intermediate players who want to have fun and learn the fundamentals of tennis through drills and games. The program is directed by the Boys' and Girls' Varsity Coach, Mark Rabideau and assisted by high-level players. This program is on Monday nights at 6pm.



BARC Ski 2019- Lift & Lesson (Ages 8 & up)

BARC partners with Willard Mountain to provide a ski/snowboard program offered at a discounted group rate. This program is for families in the Towns of Ballston, Milton or Malta or the Village of Ballston Spa. The Willard family strives to make your skiing or riding experience positive, rewarding and fun, while our excellent instruction guarantees you’ll get off on the ‘right ski or board’! You can enjoy the incredible beauty of a freshly covered trail by yourself, with family and friends, or in a lesson.

This program is offered on either Saturday or Sunday starting January 5th or 6th.

RENTAL EQUIPMENT – Once you are registered, come up and get fitted for your equipment. Please bring your registration confirmation with you. The Rental Shop is available for fittings on weekends from 10:00am-3:30pm, starting October 17th. Fittings must be done at least two weeks before program.
